WELCOME

After I bought my first recumbent trike, I quickly discovered that riding on most traditional roads and unpaved paths was simply not safe or enjoyable. My trike’s very low profile, even with a safety flag, was hard for vehicles to see. In addition, the tires and recumbent position of the trike made off-roading and steep hills a real chore.

This site is dedicated to sharing information about bike and trike paths, routes, products and events that are friendly to recumbent riders. Here you will find video tours of some of the paths I’ve discovered along with helpful maps and additional information about interesting things to do in the area. In the process of discovering these paths I also found out that they’re suitable for in-line skaters, hikers, traditional bikers and more.

Eventually, I hope to encourage other “roving reporters”, who have discovered recumbent friendly paths, to share their videos, photos and maps. So I invite you to explore this site and share your thoughts, comments, and relevant information.

Finally, I hope we can encourage other people to discover the real joy of exploring these great trails. Along the way I’ve met some wonderful and interesting people in the towns and hamlets that intersect these routes. These trails are helping to breathe new life into their communities and they give back to us a rich experience we would miss if we were just racing by on an interstate highway.
